New Lamps

I'm delighted by how beautiful my new lamps from House Doctor look in my kitchen windows. I bought them a few days ago in the coffee shop Butikk Josefine.

I love the retro feel of this white ceramic. It has a fabulous geometric design that throws out a set of shadows from all angles.

My darling husband helped me to hang them {L♥VE U G}

Tomorrow I will have my left foot done! Hallux valgus correction surgery, so I have to get ready for at least two weeks in bed. This time I will have to take extra care because my my right foot is still a little bit swollen.

Happy Happy Monday Every one!

Home Made Easter

My favorite things about the holidays is being with my family, delicious food and home made decorations. This year my children have decorated the fireplace, (which we almost never use), with Easter decorations that they have made home or brought from school and kindergarten.

The cute pennant is from Søstrene Grene, even the tag I think is cute ♥. The flower candle and the egg holder from Living.
Your you can find more inspiration in the blog Potrinas challenge: Easter in your house

I would like to say thank you for taking the time to write me comments and suggestions.
Happy Saturday

Butikk Josefine

On the small island where I live just outside of Bergen, there are some special interior design stores. One of them is Butikk Josefine. I went last Saturday with my boys to visit the store. In the Kafe we ate home made muffins, boller and lefse and I had a very good cappuccino. While the kids ate I had the opportunity to look around the shop and I took pictures with permission of the owner.

The contrast of new things with old things is fantastic, and that is the philosophy of the store. Some of the new things are from the brand House Doctor like lamps and vases, but they also have there own manufactured goods, such as purses and pillows and some old things such as typewriters and maps.

You can visit the blog here: Butikk Josefine and come to visit the beautiful store! They are open thursdays, fridays and saturdays
I made a great purchase! Can you guess what did I buy?

TV Room

The TV room is our family favorite part of the house. The kids can watch their movies and play play station,  my husband can watch sports and I have always a clear and clean living room.

The room is small, about 8m2, we were lucky that this comfortable sofa from Living fit in perfectly. The Bestå Burs Ikea wall shelf stores dvds and games. I like that I can show the
chips, snacks, candy and popcorn bowls from Bruka when they are not in use.

My son Daniel brought home this two paintings from school and I love them! They also look so nice in the TV Room.

Our TV is over a Ikea Bestå shelf unit. The deep blue rug and the red Lack table are also from Ikea.

We love our colorful family entertainment room.

Oh My Omaggio

I am in love with the stripe design of the danish company Kähler , and I ordered my first vase enjoying the offer of the Norwegian magazine Rom 123.
(5 magazines and a small vase for only 199,-)
Screenshot from VG Nett

While I'm waiting to get my vase and my first magazine, I decided to paint some old glass jars inspired on Omaggios stripe designs.

I painted the jars with three layers of white acrylic paint. To paint the color stripes I covered with tape the parts that I wanted to keep white.

I think that they look so nice with buttercup flowers. The white flowers are fake, from Rivièra Maison and they are going to decor my bathroom. Unfortunately my bathroom has no windows and I can't have plants there. I have seen this idea elsewhere, but I hope mine will inspire someone to DIY and give an old jar, vase or pot a make over

Hope every one had a nice weekend.

Kids Rooms Wall Decor

Maybe some of you all ready know about this amazing photographer Mike Stimpson. He takes the most original Lego figures pictures. I email him two years ego asking him permission to print some of his pictures to make a collage of my sons favorite Star Wars figures pictures in Photoshop and send it to my local photo store to print them like posters.
This idea is super nice for boys rooms decor or Lego fans. Here you can download his pictures, and you don't need to ask him permission to print as long is for a non-commercial setting.

Maybe you want to take you own pictures? If you want to use them for your kids room you can ask them to choose the figures they like and to put them in the positions they want.

My son Daniel  has a sense of decoration like his mother in this case with his Bakugan.

I love that picture with Daniel and my grandmother/mormor, he was just 5 months old.
She celebrated 97 years of life yesterday.
So today of all days my thoughts are with her. I love her and she is an amazing woman. I wish I could be closer to her ♥
Happy women's day

Here I am - This is me

Esta Soy Yo
Interior Speaking
In our home we speak three languages, (español, norsk & english), and we combine two cultures: the Norwegian and  the Colombian. My most personal possessions, interior speaking, are my oil paintings. They represent the challenge that it is for me to teach my kids where I come from.

In the living room a Colombian landscape

In the kitchen a bodegón

Maracuya - Passionfruit from Colombia

Colombian Coffee

My mother painted this two beautiful pictures while she was visiting Norway summer 06.

It doesn't get more personal than this! ;)

Creative Free

I love to give the kids tools and let their creativity go free. During winter break Daniel painted his guitar and Oskar was painting on small pieces of paper that he later will use as birthday cards for his friends.

My project is to find the greener me. I have been searching in the web, Pinterest and magazines, but also in my childhood memories, because my mothers favorite color is green and we had a lot of green in the house that I grow up in. When I think green, Master Yoda and plants are the first things that come to my mind. I have orchids in the house but the ceramic pots they are in were plain boring, so I decided to give them green make overs. During my visit to the Panduro shop I found a kit with nice forest colors: different greens tones, one yellow and one brown. I paste wallpaper to the ceramic pots before painting them to add texture.

This is a small preview because I am not finish with my idea.

The family is back to the every day routine but I am looking forward to more free family days maybe with my parents.
